The purpose of the Kearoa Marae Emergency Management Plan (May - 2022) sets out the roles and responsibilities of hapū members and community of Kearoa Marae, involved in reducing risks and preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies. This includes central and local government, lifeline utilities, emergency services and non-government organisations.
The Kearoa Marae Committee endorsed this plan at the Kearoa Marae hui held 22 May, 2022.
Emergencies can happen anywhere and at any time. The Rotorua region has experienced a number of emergencies over time. The very nature of an emergency is unpredictable and can change in scope and impact. Being prepared and planning ahead is critical to protecting our hapū, our whenua and our marae.
Read through the plan (best done with a cup of tea or coffee and some snacks, it's 17 pages long)
